There Are Several Different types of weave avaialable. The standard weave is a plain weave but also available are

  • Twill Weave,
  • Plain Dutch Weave
  • Twill Dutch Weave
  • Reverse Dutch weave.

 

The differences and what is available of each type are shown below, we do not stock these products hence there is a longer lead time and minimum order quantities are higher.

 

Twill Weave

This is frequently used in very fine meshes and it is less rigid than plain weave. Each wire is passed alternatively over two and then under the next two cross wires. By staggering the weave a diagonal pattern is obtained in which heavier wire diameter can be used than would be possible with a plain weave of the the same mesh counts

Twill Dutch Weave

Twill Dutch Weave is also known as Twilled Filter Cloth. Its weave pattern is similar to plain dutch weave but it uses a double layer of weft wires woven as a twill pattern. It is very strong, with a controlled flow rate and is suitable where high pressure filtration is required.

Plain Dutch Weave

Also known as Plain Filter Cloth its weave pattern is the same as plain weave, but the weft wires are of smaller diameter than the warp wires. The wires are woven tightly together resulting in a small triangular opening. This weave produces a strong cloth with a small open area with a good flow rate, making it suitable for high pressure filtration.

Reverse Dutch Weave

This is woven as a Plain Weave but in the opposite direction to Plain Dutch Weave. The weft wires are of heavier diameter than the warp wires which gives a higher number of warp wires than weft. The resulting mesh is very strong, with a high flow rate which cleans easily.
